All products shipped by Safetybasement are certified to be in good working order. However should there be a defect in a product that is shipped to you then certain procedures must be followed .
We highly recommend you give us a call for technical help before deciding on returning a product just incase you missed that one thing that will make it work. Unless of course you really changed your mind and decided to return the item.

How do I return an item?
First, contact us via e-mail or telephone to receive an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. DO NOT RETURN AN ITEM WITHOUT GETTING AN RMA NUMBER! Once you get your item boxed and ready to ship back to us, clearly mark the RMA number on the outside of the box. This will ensure a speedy processing of your returned product.
Before you pack your product PLEASE ensure that every accessory is returned with your item. Missing accessories may nullify your return.

Warranty for exchange/Defective products:
All our returnable products come with a 90 days warranty and a manufacturer warranty which may range anywhere from 3 months to 1 year or beyond. Please contact us to determine the manufacturer warranty on a given item if it not clearly stated on product. However if you return a defective item to us within our stipulated return window, then we will immediately replace or repair the unit for you, on us. Any item that is in naturally defective and returned outside of this return window will be subject to manufacturer warranty rules. Generally these rules may mean customer will have to work with manufacturer directly if manufacturer is US based or customer can send unit to us to forward it to manufacturer if manufacturer is based outside US. Please note that by sending us a defective product outside our return window for a non us based manufacturer does not mean unit is being repaired by us. And If any reimbursement is due is such a case, it will be provided by manufacturer directly.

If an item is naturally defective, and not as a result of customer error or damage, we will repair or replace it for you, granted it is done during the stipulated return 'window'

Return policy for each category:

Law Enforcement Products
All our law enforcement products that are Non-Spy & Surveillance items have a 30 day return policy for unopened & unused products. All law enforcement surveillance products have the same return policy as below Spy & Surveillance Return Policy.

Spy & Surveillance Return Policy:
Most of our spy & surveillance and related items have a 5 calendar day return policy from date of receipt. This is for non-defective items. We highly recommend that you decide on keeping or returnung your unit within these 5 calendar days after receipt of your product. Therefore we recommend you purchase this item when you will be there to receive it. Due to the nature of the products, returns will not be accepted for opened packages unless the product is found to be naturally defective or unless a longer return policy is explicitly stated for that specific product. Our previous return policy was far more generous until we later found out that some unscrupulous people ordered our surveillance products for specific short term/one time uses and then returned the product(s). This was bad for business.
However all spy & surveillance products that have been opened and returned within the 5 CALENDAR days AND in original packaging, or we were notified of intention to return item within 5 CALENDAR days after delivery to customer, will be accepted back We inspect and test all returned products. We will NOT accept items that are not returned in ALL their original packaging or packaging destroyed or broken.
If the product is returned in the original packaging, we will replace, refund, or credit your account (Less shipping) no questions asked.

: All returns MUST be shipped back to us within 5 calendar days of receiving your RMA number! Failure to ship back to us within that time frame will render your return void.

Custom Spy and Surveillance Products:
All surveillance products that have been custom-ordered are non-refundable or returnable. Please ensure you have talked to us and thoroughly understood what you are ordering.

GPS Tracking Devices
All GPS devices that have been activated AND tracking activity has been recorded on our servers are non-refundable/returnable. Before buying or activating your GPS device make sure you have asked all pertinent questions about the GPS units prior to buying! We will even provide you with demos to ensure that you are satisfied with the total package prior to purchase. If you have not activated your GPS device and bought it less than 5 days ago and wish to return unit, then give us a call and we will provide you with an RMA number for a full refund or credit.

Self Defense Products:

Most of our self defense products have a 15 days return policy from date of receipt. Items must be in first class condition and original packaging. Items not satisfying this specification will be subject to a 25% restocking fee or return declined for a return UNLESS the item is naturally defective or the incorrect item was shipped to you. In that case, a full refund will be provided.

All items shipped via purchase orders are non-returnable. We can replace or repair these items within our standard warranty time.

We will gladly take back all items that were incorrectly shipped to you. At times we ship the wrong item to our customers. In such instances we will take back your return and fully refund you or replace the unit with the correct item.

All processed return items that are past their 5 calendar day window and that are not being exchanged, will be issued a store credit. This store credit does not expire, and will be automatically applied to your next order. For example if you had a $50 store credit and 1 year later you return to purchase something for $50, at checkout you will automatically owe nothning because we will automatically apply your credit. No need to remember you had a store credit one year later. We got you automatically covered!

Shipping: All shipping cost is non refundable. All refunds will be LESS shipping.

Where do I return the merchandise?

If you need to return a damaged or defective product, please contact us by e-mail for authorization in advance and we will provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization Number and shipping instructions.

IMPORTANT: All returns MUST be shipped within 5 business days of receiving your RMA number! Failure to send item within that time frame will render your return void.
All goods returned must include a proof of purchase, either invoice or order reference number must be provided.

Who pays for shipping if I return a product?

Shipping charges for returns and refunds are your responsibility. However, if you are returning an item because it arrived damaged or there was an error processing your order, Addo Enterprises, Inc will gladly reimburse you for postal expenses.
