QUICK INSTRUCTION GUIDE
CHARGING: We recommend you fully charge unit the first time you receive
it. Plug in the included USB cable on one end, and the other into a USB charging
port either in your computer or an outlet that has USB plugs.
During charging the RED indicator light will blink. Once unit is fully charged
the light will turn to a STEADY BLUE light. Total charging time usually takes
about 3-4 hrs.
BATTERY STATUS CHECK:
You can check the battery status by pressing the + and - buttons at the same
time.
--- If red light blinks rapidly it means unit is out of power. less than %
--Red light flashes every 1 second: less than a 25% power left
--Red light flashes twice: 25%-50% power remaining
--Red light flashes 3 times: 50%-75% power remaining
--Red light flashes 4 times: 75%-100% power remaining
START RECORDING: To start recording, move the POWER switch to the ON
position (refer to image). Once turned on, the indicator light will blink for
a few seconds then turn off. You are now recording. Please note that it takes
about 10 seconds after turning switch to ON position for recording to start.
STOP RECORDING: Move power switch back to OFF position. This will save
your recordings, then turn your device off.
LIGHT INDICATION: The light will blink differently depending on what
bit rate it is recording in. Click here to learn more about bit rate.
a) 64 kbps: This is the default quality setting. Light will will blink 3 times
before turning off
b.512 kbps: You can switch the record quality setting to 512 kbps. Once you
turn the unit on and the light has flashed 2 times, press AND HOLD the '-' button
until the indicator light begins alternating between blue and red. Release.
This will continue until a combined 6 blinks. Once the light turns off, this
means you are now recording using the highest quality setting. NOTE: recording
at this setting will deplete your memory a lot faster. If you will be recording
at this setting for an extended period of time, you may want to have expanded
memory by inserting a micro SD card. CLICK HERE for more information on this.
QUALITY MODE: This unit can record in 2 quality modes. 64 kbps and 512
kbps. See LIGHT INDICATION section above on how to switch between
the two modes.
SETTING TIME: The time file is on the device. Plug unit to
computer and find the time folder. Open the folder until you come to the setdigitalRecorderTm.
Double click the file (Please note that some computer antivirus programs may
reject this file. Continue with opening the file. This should automatically
synchronize your device time with your computer time. You're all set!
NOTE: (if you cant find the time file or
accidentally delete it please check RECOVERY section below to download replacement
files
SET TIME (Alternative way): If you prefer,
the other way to time stamp your recordings is by turning unit on, then after
10 seconds, clearly speak into unit your name, date and time. Then simply deploy
unit as you wanted to. This is actually a more secure way to time and date stamp.
This is more admissible in court than the digital time stamp.
Please note that you will have to set your time each time you turn unit OFF
then ON again.
RESET: Incase you experience trouble with device, you can reset it
by firmly pressing and releasing the rest key.
PLAYBACK:
Once you have recorded your files and now wish to listen to them, you have 2
ways of doing it.
1. PLAYBACK VIA COMPUTER: This is the easiest way to many customers. Simply
connect the unit to your computer, using the included USB cable to listen to
your recordings
2. PLAYBACK VIA HEADPHONES: You can plug in the included headphones (or your
own) to listen to your recordings. See following instruction on how to do that:
a. Start with power switch in the OFF position: Plug in headphones then move
switch to ON position.
b. You will start hearing the MP 3 files on the device. This is normal. Simply
press the '-' key once and release. This should skip you to the AUDIO RECORDING
folder. You should now start hearing the first file in that folder playing back.
If there are no files then you will not hear anything.
3. SKIP FILES: You can skip from one file to another in a given folder by pressing
and releasing the '+' button.
4. VOLUME UP/DOWN: To increase or decrease volume, simply PRESS AND HOLD the
'-' or '+' button respectively. Remember you will PRESS AND HOLD.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
FLASHLIGHT: The flashlight works only while unit is turned ON. PRESS
AND HOLD the '+' button till light turns on. Do likewise to turn it off.
BATTERY LEVEL: You can check how much 'juice' is left in the
unit by doing one of the following:
- Press and hold the '-' and '+' buttons at the same time to check the power
remaining. The light indication will blink differently to denote how much power
is left:
a. 0% remaining: RED indicator light flashes rapidly and turns off.
b. 0-25% remaining: RED light flashing 1 time
c. 25%-50%: RED indicator light flashes 2 times
d. 50%-75%: RED indicator light flashes 3 times
e. 75%-100%: RED indicator light flashes 4 times
DELETING FILES: To delete files we recommend you connect unit to your
computer, locate the connected device which will show up as a drive, then select
and delete files.
RECOVERY FILE:
Should you ever lose or accidentally delete the time file on your device, please
save the file in the link below. It contains a copy of the time files needed.
Please download BOTH files to the same area. BOTH files must be saved before
you can engage (double click) the time file.
