These seals could also be used in a color coding system. For example, the yellow seals above could be used when the evidence is collected in the field. If the evidence needs to be processed by the laboratory, it could be sealed with the white seals to indicate that it was processed. Or, if it needed to be processed by the latent print section, a red label for sealing could indicate that the work was done. There is a slit between each seal on the roll making it easy to remove one seal at a time. Since these seals are backed with paper, a number of seals can be removed for placement in an evidence kit by cutting them from the roll with the paper still in place.
