Product Care
Hatch gloves are designed and manufactured with the highest quality materials.
To provide you with years of use, please follow these care and maintenance instructions.
CLEANING/MAINTENANCE
Both new and used gloves should be thoroughly inspected before wearing to ensure
no damage is present. After each use, where re-use is intended, contaminated
gloves should be cleaned. All Hatch gloves should be hand-washed and air-dried.
Leather Gloves
If your gloves become soiled they may be washed with mild soap (preferably anti-bacterial)
and warm (not hot) water. Wash them separately from other garments, as some
of the dye may not have the same stability as other clothing. Rinse thoroughly
with cold water, pat dry with a towel and allow to air dry completely. Do not
machine dry. Washing your gloves will take some of the natural oils out of the
leather, therefore they should be reconditioned. For best results, use a leather
conditioner. If you prefer, regular hair conditioner is an inexpensive, viable
substitute.
To wash BG800 Guardian bloodborne pathogen protective gloves, do not
submerse in water, but wipe them off instead to avoid contaminating or damaging
the liners. To disinfect the leather, a 10:1 water/bleach solution should be
used, as recommended by both the Environmental Protection Agency and Fabric
Care Institute. This should be applied using a cloth or cotton balls. Rinse,
dry and recondition the leather as directed above.
*Note: Allowing the bleach solution into the inside of the BG800 will compromise
the integrity of the liners. Should blood or other body fluids enter the inside
of your gloves, discard them immediately.
KEVLAR® Apparel
The following instructions are for washing KEVLAR® fabric only. Keep this
in mind when laundering Hatch products containing other materials in addition
to KEVLAR®. All Hatch gloves should be hand-washed and air-dried.
Your KEVLAR® apparel should be kept clean to eliminate contamination from
any other chemicals or fibers, which may compromise the flame resistant characteristics.
Paint, oils and other flammable chemicals can pose a significant hazard if they
are not removed from the garment.
Garments of KEVLAR® should be washed separately from other articles. This
will help prevent contamination of lint from other fibers, which may be flammable.
STORAGE
Gloves should ideally be stored in dry conditions in the original package.
OBSOLESCENCE
When stored as recommended, gloves will not suffer change in mechanical properties
for up to three years from the date of manufacture. Service life cannot be specified
and depends upon the application. It is the responsibility of the user to ascertain
suitability of gloves for its intended use.
