This new unit is an ideal portable "darkroom" for all applications requiring high-contrast fluorescence analysis. It is perfect when lab space is at a premium. The cabinet is constructed of rugged aluminum, is lightweight, and fully portable. The felt curtain permits easy access to the interior while blocking out ambient light. Visible illumination is provided by an interior white light source. Both the ultraviolet lamp and white light source are controlled by switches conveniently located on the top of the cabinet. The cabinet holds either one or two 8-watt lamps.. Each lamp is instantly removable for hand-held applications. A flexible contoured eyepiece, together with a built-in UV-absorbing window, eliminates "blue haze" interference, increases contrast between the fluorescent area and the background, and reduces eye fatigue. This is an ideal cabinet for document examination. The bottom panel is readily removable.
