This 2" portable magnifier has a 2X optical glass lens. The attached soft-leather case becomes a convenient handle once unfolded but protects the glass lens from scratches when folded. It is useful in almost any investigation or courtroom situation and fits in any shirt pocket, crime scene kit or briefcase. Do a quick evaluation of your latent prints at the crime scene to see if it is necessary to do a second or third lift. It is not recommended to evaluate your latent prints at the crime scene to see if you are going to keep them or not. Do that when you have sufficient light and a stronger magnifier back in the office.
