1.8 oz Stream (MK-3) SABRE DEFENSE, H2O, Level I, 10%OC @ .33% Major Capsinoids,
LAW ENFORCEMENT ONLY
The pungency on this spray is 10% Oleoresin Capsicum and 1.33% Capsaicinoids.
Available in stream, cone or foam. This supplies an unsurpassed single ingredient
in stopping power. Contains 1.8 ounces of a stream delivery
Formulation: Water soluable Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) and ultraviolet
making dye. The formulation is non-flammable and electronic imobilization device
compatible.
Each canister is stabilized and contains an operating pressure of 95 PSI.
Labeling: All canisters are labeled with a protective Mylar over lamination
cover which resists wear and water damage. Canisters are labeled with the shot
pattern, batch
number, serial number and expiration date. Individually serialized canisters
permit easy identification and link to formulation batch numbers for quality
assurance tracking.
Quality Control: Manufacturer maintains quality control system in accordance
with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the following:
| Operation Test |
Discharge Duration Test |
Intermittent Discharge Test |
High Temperature Exposure Test |
| Temperature Cycle Test |
Operating Weight Test |
Gasket Dependability Test |
Hydrostatic Pressure Test |
| One Year Time Leakage Test |

SABRE
H2O SERIES
ELECTRONIC IMMOBILIZATION DEVICE
COMPATIBILITY
Agencies using or planning to use Electronic
Immobilization Devices (EID), such as Tasers, need to consider the compatibility
of the EID with their defense spray. EID can only be used in conjunction with
nonflammable & EID compatible defense sprays! If a subject is sprayed with
a flammable/non-compatible defense spray and then is contacted with an EID,
chances are very good the subject’s clothing will catch fire. This could likely
cause two serious problems to occur:
1. The subject & officer could sustain serious
injuries.
2. The subject could attempt to seek financial
compensation for the injury.
There is a solution which will prevent the above
situation from occurring, yet will also allow agencies to use their EID in conjunction
with their defense spray. The solution is the SABRE H2O SERIES! The New H2O
Series uses distilled water as the major inactive ingredient to establish a
comprehensive product offering of nonflammable defense sprays.
CAUTION:
Most manufacturers claim their aerosol projectors are nonflammable, and some
may even provide independent laboratory testing to serve as further evidence.
Be advised that the EPA Flame Extension Test measures flammability by firing
the aerosol projector through a flame. Unfortunately, these results are not
relevant for agencies using Electronic Immobilization Devices. NONFLAMMABLE
DOES NOT EQUAL EID COMPATIBILITY!
The use of EID brings
to light a new set of circumstances. Unlike the Flame Extension Test, with EID
the concern relates to a spark coming into contact with the liquid from the
aerosol projector which has already reached the skin and clothing of the subject.
If the spark from an EID reaches the area covered by the flammable aerosol projector,
injuries will occur. The only way to prevent this problem from occurring is
via usage of a water base aerosol projector such as those available in the SABRE
H2O Series.
Agencies should not
assume that a defense spray is EID Compatible because a manufacturer or an independent
laboratory claims that it is nonflammable. Instead, they should be absolutely
certain of a product’s flammability and EID compatibility status by employing
their own practical testing procedures. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT AGENCIES TEST
THEIR AEROSOL PROJECTORS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THEIR EID BEFORE ISSUING BOTH TO
THEIR PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES
1. Water base sprays allow for quicker
decontamination periods.
2. Though distilled water is a significant
ingredient, the H2O Series will not freeze.
3. Since Nitrogen was chosen as
the propellant, the H2O Series maintains effective operating pressure in extreme
temperatures.
